One of the most profound things you can do is to stop complaining altogether. You will notice immediate results. (And you will become aware of how the entire world around you just complains 24/7 about everything.)
Why stop complaining? Because all complaining does is bring frustration, anger, bitterness and depression – first to you and then to everyone around you you’re complaining to.
Only speak that which is positive and builds others up. Don’t let any negativity flow from you (Ephesians 4:29). It accomplishes nothing and just drags yourself and others down with you, giving you and others feelings that make life not worth living. Whereas only speaking positively and building others up brings joy and peace.
When it comes to complaining in the context of helping others, remember what Jesus said in Matthew 5:42 – “And whoever compels you to go one mile, go with him two.” Do whatever someone asks you to do – joyfully, in goodwill (being friendly, helpful and cooperative), all without complaining, bringing peace and joy to the other. And if at the end they ask you to do something else on top of that, do that too – joyfully, in goodwill (being friendly, helpful and cooperative), all without complaining, bringing peace and joy to the other.
In all things, whether helping others or our own work even: “We do whatever it takes – all without complaining.”
