A law in this sense of this note is: an unchangeable rule of how something naturally behaves. “It’s just how it is…”
In the physical realm, there are laws of physics, such as Newton’s First Law of Motion – The Rule: An object at rest stays at rest, and an object in motion stays in motion at a constant speed in a straight line, unless an outside force acts on it.
There are spiritual laws too:
- The Law of Gentleness: If you’re gentle and infinitely patient (in thought, word and action) with yourself, others, things and technology, you’ll be amazed at how cooperative they are. If you’re harsh and forceful with them, you’ll be amazed at how disobedient they are. (It cannot be overstated how gentle you should be in everything.)
- The Law of Liberty: Basically, the Ten Commandments. Called the Law of “Liberty” by James, following this law “liberates” (frees) us from the slavery of sin and all its harsh and mentally painful consequences: depression, stress, anxiety, fear, panic, nervousness, worry, anger, bitterness, envy, covetousness, etc., freeing us to experience only peace and joy.
- The Law of Sin: Revealed to Paul and documented in Romans 7, Paul describes a spiritual law where sin dwells with us (as our inward man) in our fleshly bodies (our outward man). We as the holy and righteous inward man delight in the laws (the Law of Liberty) and ways of God and desire to obey them. But the law that states that sin that dwells in our flesh, that law says that sin wars against our inward man’s holy desires and sometimes provokes us to sin.
- The Law of Abundance: The more you attempt to abound materially with selfish ambition, the more abased you become spiritually.
(I’m adding to this note as more laws are revealed to me.)
